The Edison Light Bulb
Although around since the turn of the 20th century, Edison light bulbs have only recently made their way into the design industry, taking a front seat in modern design styles. Known across the board for their “vintage” appearances as well as their unique pear-shaped bulb and clean, clear glass envelope, these bulbs are sought out by many customers aiming to create a retro lighting environment in a contemporary design. And with the numerous advances made to the bulb design itself, making the bulb more energy efficient and safe, Edison bulbs are being incorporated heavily into light fixtures from some of our most notable product manufacturers.

This stunning chandelier by Arteriors Home captured our attention at one of the High Point markets. Hang like they did here over a farmhouse style dining room table or use as an entry way statement piece or above a large kitchen island. Made of wood with grey and rust finishes, the Geoffrey Chandelier fits both a modern or rustic design style and would suit a mountain or farmhouse inspired home with large windows and tall ceilings.

Perfect in an airy room design complement to white walls shown here or with pale blues and greens for a more lake house effect, this top pick would bring a hint of subtle class to any room.
Black, bold and brilliant, this hanging wired lamp from Light & Living is a statement piece best complemented for a modern day or minimalism design. Pair it with contemporary clean line furniture like they did here or with big, chunky styles for a more comfortable atmosphere. We would recommend hanging this in a room mixed with wood textures and deep brown colors or in a more classic black and white setting for the lighting fixture to really stand out.
Last but not least, this table lamp from Light & Living has a timeless beauty about it. Perfect as a buffet or console table piece, this unique rhombus shaped lamp will be a conversation starter and an easy addition to any room design.
