2019’s Color of the Year: Living Coral
Finally! The color of our dreams! Living Coral has been named the 2019 PANTONE Color of the Year and we can’t even begin to describe how happy it makes us.
Moving on from last year’s Ultra Violet, the 2019 hue sets a standard for the New Year of radiance, lightheartedness and a deep oceanic dive back to nature. Living Coral as PANTONE describes it is: “Glorious, yet unfortunately more elusive, display beneath the sea, this vivifying and effervescent color mesmerizes the eye and mind.”
In early December, the color authority announced that “just as coral reefs are a source of sustenance and shelter to sea life, vibrant yet mellow, Pantone 16-1546, Living Coral embraces us with warmth and nourishment to provide comfort and buoyancy in our continually shifting environment.”
Why do we love this years’ color choice so much here at Ciao? Because it is energizing, an easy addition to any color palette, a nod to the warmth yet to come in the next few months and also not a color we see too often here in our Montana backdrop.
That said, below are some of our favorite fabric picks that you can mix and match to incorporate the color into your own home this year.
Dolce Mango from Tropitone Furniture Company stole our hearts with its’ lively mixture of colors that screams summer vacation. As our favorite pick for outdoor furniture, this choice makes a great addition to the back-patio cushions or outdoor curtains.
Alaska Coral by Lee Industries reminds us of the beauty and nature the Color of the Year really does represent. This hue, a perfect complement to the pacific salmon we all love from the state will bring a sense of energy to any room in your home. Perfect for the throw pillows on a cream-colored sofa in the sun room or as the drapery in a nursery, this 100% cotton fabric will be a favorite of yours all year round.
A favorite for its versatility, this indoor/outdoor Flamingo fabric from Pindler & Pindler will be stunning in any setting. We love the crocheted diamond repeat and the fabrics stain/fade resident qualities.
